Ear Discharge
Most of the time, ear discharge is earwax. When this is white, bloody or yellow, however, it may be cause for concern.
What are the causes?
Ear discharge can be a symptom of a variety of conditions, including infections, allergies, or injuries; it is important to seek medical attention from an ear specialist in Singapore to determine the underlying cause and provide appropriate treatment.
Ear discharge may be due to infections of the outer and middle ear when there is a perforation of the eardrum. Surgery may be required to repair the eardrum in such cases. Sometimes, ear discharge can also be caused by serious conditions such as cholesteatoma, which can potentially result in serious complications. A CT scan may be needed to evaluate the middle ear.
