Head and Neck Specialist
The Head & Neck sub-speciality deals primarily with tumours affecting eight sub-sites: the nose and sinuses, the nasopharynx (the area just behind the nose), the thyroid glands, the oral cavity, the oropharynx (throat), the larynx (voice box), the hypopharynx (the inlet into gullet) and the salivary glands.
Benign and malignant tumours affecting the head and neck region are best detected with specialised diagnostic tools. We offer access to the only PET-MRI imaging system in Singapore, housed in Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. This advanced diagnostic tool significantly enhances the evaluation and treatment of head and neck tumours, and can be further complemented with other proven diagnostic procedures including ultrasound, Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA), nasal endoscopy and biopsies that are performed in our centre.
Combined with our medical and surgical treatments, our patients receive comprehensive care in the management of head and neck conditions led by our sub-specialist surgeon Dr Christopher Goh.
